From 12 to 16 November 2012.
From November 12 to 16 the International Conference-Session "Physics of Fundamental Interactions" of the Section of Nuclear Physics of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences was held in MEPhI. The program of the session covered the main theoretical and experimental aspects of elementary particle physics and related problems of nuclear physics and cosmology.
The scientific forum was attended by 312 people from 43 organizations, including the two leading scientific centers of Russia - JINR and NRC "Kurchatov Institute", 10 institutes of RAS, 14 universities and 3 foreign laboratories as well as large international collaborations: ATLAS, CMS, Belle , LHCb, BES-III, BaBar, PAMELA.
In the framework of the session-conference seven plenary sessions were held, on which 22 reports were presented. On nine sections in total 197 reports were presented.
Thanks to the session-conference which was held in the university students and postgraduates have had an opportunity to take part in the plenary and sectional sessions on which the specific issues of their interest were discussed.
From 23 to 26 October 2012.
In the National Research Centre (NRC "Kurchatov Institute") the annual 10th Kurchatov Youth Scientific School was held. Two students of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI V.S. Kruglikova and E.A. Kovylyaeva presented reports about operation of the Cherenkov Water Detector NEVOD. The reports aroused great interest and many questions from the school participants.

Our 50th anniversary!!!
The Scientific-educational center NEVOD of NRNU MEPHI celebrated its 50th anniversary.
In honor of the anniversary of the the Scientific-educational center NEVOD (until 1988 it was named Muon laboratories of the Department ¹ 7) of of NRNU MEPHI held a Open house. The staff of REC NETS, known for its unity and hospitality, has prepared a rich holiday program for numerous guests, it included, in particular, a walk on the "corners" of a unique experimental complex, acquaintance to the NEVOD chronicles and the gastronomic variety, proper for anniversary.
The visitors with particular interest read the rare issues of wall Newspapers "MUON", published in the 70s in the Muon laboratory (Kirova st., 21), which contain a detailed reflection of the many landmarks of the rich in the events history of the laboratory. SEC NEVOD is the only scientific-educational centre of the country, the establishment of which was marked by the award of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of education. The staff of the Center is the leader of the University on the number of young employees, prized with a medals of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the best scientific works. Each of these achievements is preceded by a long-term collective work of the stuff of the SEC NEVOD, headed by scientific adviser, Professor Anatoly Afanasyevich Petruhin.
From 9 to 11 July 2012.
The Thunderstorms and Elementary Particle Acceleration (TEPA-2012) conference was held at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The post-graduate student of the Scientific-educational center NEVOD Mikhailenko A.S. spoke at the conference with a report «Variations of muon flux during thunderstorms».
From 3 to 7 July 2012.
The 23rd European Cosmic Ray Symposium (ECRS-2012), combined with a 32nd Russian Cosmic Ray Conference (ÂÊÊË-2012), was held at the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow from July 3 through July 7, 2012. In the framework of the ECRS, which is held once in two years, scientists from Europe and all over the world can come together and discuss the current problems and new discoveries in physics of cosmic rays. ECRS traditionally covers the entire spectrum of cosmic ray studies from solar-terrestrial physics to the physics of ultra-high energies. In this year, the Symposium was dedicated to the centenary of the discovery of cosmic rays. 12 papers from the Scientific-educational center NEVOD was presented at the conference, 8 of them are recommended to the publication in the Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
